Video Conferencing Features - Text Chat

Instant messaging (text chat) can be public and private. You can use it to share text messages, links and comments with all participants of a conference or chat with a particular person in private.

Text chat is available all the time and you don’t have to be in a conference to use it. You can open it whenever you want and start exchanging messages with a person you want to talk to anytime.

How it works

Chat work is pretty simple, it sends your message to a particular user or to every participant of a group video conference if they are accessible.

If the message can’t be delivered it gets stored and will be delivered once the user sign in again.

Opening a chat

Chat window can be started from the address book window (using right-click menu of specific user).

Opening a chat

Or by pressing an icon with a "two persons and a balloon" on it on the main screen.

Sending a message

To start a conversation you have to open a chat tab of the user you want to chat with and enter your message into text area and then press "Enter" or click on "Send" button.

Send a message

Your message will be delivered immediately. A person you have sent the message to will see a pop-up notification in the corner of his/her window.

During a multipoint video conference you can broadcast your message to every participant by using a "Common" chat tab. All messages in this tab are visible to every participant of the conference.
