Software Video Conferencing Server

Software Video Conferencing Server Videoport VCS 3.0

VideoPort VCS, a video conferencing server, is a software product for Microsoft Windows Server 2000, 2003 and 2008 operating systems. The client application is compatible with Microsoft Windows 2000, XP, Vista and 7 operating systems. Both server and client applications help to set up multi-user videoconferencing system through a LAN or the Internet. The software is tailored to work with a large number of online users and makes it possible to hold up to 250 participants in single video conference.

VideoPort VCS is a successor of VideoPort SBS/SBS Plus/Enterprise software video conferencing servers. It was created specifically to be easily integrated into the infrastructure of any company, educational or state institution. Integration with a company’s network services will enable network administrators to start using the product immediately. In this case the integration costs are kept to a minimum, even in comparison with other video conferencing software solutions.

VideoPort Cyclon, a proprietary video codec, helps users enjoy business-quality personal video calls and conferences with connection speeds as low as 128kbps for one-on-one calls and 256kbps for group conferences even using unstable connection channels. A 480x360 (640x480 mode is optional) video resolution stream is transmitted from every participant to each other. VideoPort server architecture makes it possible to connect participants not only through a LAN but from outside through corporate NAT, Firewall and proxy layers with no threat to the network security

Users’ email addresses are used as their logins, which makes your network an easy-to-use tool for internal communication in a natural way. Integration with the Microsoft Active Directory and other services using the LDAP protocol will enable prompt and efficient user management from day one. This approach helps to reduce the initial time to run the system to a minimum and allows non-professional users to install and customize VideoPort VCS server in less than half an hour.

To set up a videoconference in a corporate network, you will not need expensive equipment as VideoPort VCS videoconferencing server does not convert video streams. VideoPort VCS has low channels requirements due to a unique video codec and transport levels, which prevents server CPU overload. This means that any modern PC with a dual core processor and Hyper Threading technology can be used as server.

We have collected many feedbacks from our users in the recent years. Many of them have been implemented in VideoPort VCS server by our experts. All of this allowed us to make VCS a really impressive and fully functional video conferencing solution.

Functionality

A point-to-point video call is a call between two users where both participants are able to see and hear each other.

A multipoint video conference (or multi-user video conference) makes it possible to connect up to 16 participants at the same time where everyone can see and hear each other.

Video lecture is a type of a video conference where up to 16 participants can see and hear only the owner of such conference while he or she can see and hear all of them simultaneously.

Video meeting (role-based multipoint video conference) can bring together in a single video conference up to 90 participants, where up to 3 persons selected by the owner of conference in a real-time could be seen and heard by all others. This conference is very useful for meetings and allows every participant to play an active role in it while maintaining a low bandwidth and screen-estate usage.

Text messaging is instant messaging, or chat.

File transfer makes it possible to send different types of files directly to your party without using third-party solutions or equipment.

Slide show helps to easily broadcast images and PowerPoint presentation to every participant of your conference.

Screen sharing enables a live video broadcast of your desktop screen to your parties.

The video call recording option allows to record video and audio streams from each participant in a single file for future reference or edit.

Whiteboard is a dedicated paint window in which you and your parties can simultaneously draw and manage basic shapes and objects, type and edit text, insert pictures and snapshots from your screen and stream images from graphic tablet or scanner.
